Abstract
The percentage of cells bearing the suppressor phenotype OKT8+ increases in PWM[pokeweed mitogen]-stimulated cultures of human newborn lymphocytes. Prevention of this increase by adding 50 .mu.M deoxyguanosine to the cultures or by pretreating the newborn cells with OKT8 and complement reduced the suppressor activity of newborn T cells. Newborn T cells probably are not intrinsically suppressive, but that they become so in virto after stimulation by PWM.This publication has 21 references indexed in Scilit:
