Noble metal ion bombardment of polycrystalline metal surfaces

Abstract
Measurements have been made of electron ejection and positive ion reflection from clean and contaminated vacuum-deposited films of silver, gold and aluminium by positive ions of nitrogen, sodium, copper, silver and gold with incident kinetic energies between 20 and 500 eV. An attempt has been made to account for the experimental results by calculating the effects of ion neutralization.Keywords
