Abstract
Genetic analysis of a large group of consecutively studied survivors of myocardial infarction indicates that one out of five below 60 years of age has some form of simply inherited hyperlipidemia. The most frequent of these inherited disorders—designated familial combined hyperlipidemia—has hitherto been poorly defined. Its unique feature is the presence of multiple lipoprotein types among the affected relatives of the same family. Keywords
