Monolayer Tissue Cultures

Abstract
The influence of the composition of the medium employed and the time of fluid change on the number of cells comprising the cell monolayer have been investigated and growth curves for poliomyelitis virus in this culture system have been determined. The results presented indicate that the use of trypsin-dispersed monkey kidney cell suspensions yielded fluids with infectivity titers of 107.3 to 108.2 ID50 doses per ml.
