CARDIAC INVOLVEMENT IN REITER'S DISEASE: REPORT OF A CASE WITH REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Abstract
A case of Reiter''s disease with myocarditis manifested by first degree A-V block is presented. The cardiac involvement of Reiterts disease consists of either a myocarditis or a pericarditis with corresponding ecg and auscultatory changes. Its incidence in this review is approximately 12% (45 of 364). Since in the majority of instances the cardiac involvement is an asymp-tomatic myocarditis, the routine use of electrocardiography is urged. Such an approach may aid in properly defining the cardiac manifest -ations in this syndrome.
