Experimental Pulpitis in Rats

Abstract
A method was developed for obtaining pulp contents aseptically from rat molars in situ. Rat pulps did not become infected as a result of traumatization by blows from a pneumatic condenser or by heat alone. If Corynebacterium were injected intravenously immediately following injury, bacteria could be recovered from some of the pulps for as long as 18 days when injury was produced by blows and for a period of 24 days after thermal injury.
