Implantation of Ureters into Completely Isolated Loops of Small Intestine.

Abstract
In dogs a loop of terminal ileum is isolated and the continuity of the small intestine restored. The proximal end of the isolated loop is closed. The ureters are transected and the distal ends ligated. The proximal ends of the ureters are implanted into the isolated ileal loop. The distal open end of the isolated loop of intestine is brought through the abdominal wall as an ileostomy. A new and successful method of uretero-ileal-cutaneous anastomosis is described.
