Abstract
Histocehmical aspects of M. mephitis were studied. Fast glycolytic fibers present in significant proportions (41-75%) in other mammals were not found. A high percentage of slow oxidative fibers was noted. The functional characteristics of ankle extensors in the striped skunk were different from other mammals. .GAMMA.
