BaTiO3ceramics without hysteresis

Abstract
The application of BaTiO3 ceramics for high-grade capacitors is limited by the ferroelectric losses, by nonlinearities and by a severe temperature dependence. By combined admixtures of two metal oxides these disadvantages were reduced. Nearly linear dielectric behaviour is found up to electric fields of 25 kV/cm. No maximum of the dielectric constant at the Curie point is found. Depolarization in fine grained BaTiO3 and stabilization effects of polyvalent ions are discussed to explain this behaviour.
