Measurement by EPR of the penetration depth in the high-Tc superconductors TlBa2Ca2Cu3Ox and Bi2Ca2SrCu2Ox

Abstract
Using a newly devleoped EPR spin-probing methodology, we have measured magnetic penetration depth λ for Tl2 Ba2 Ca2 Cu3 Ox and Bi2 Ca2 SrCu2 Ox. The temperature dependence of λ is found to follow the relationship λ=λ0[1-(T/Tc )4 ]1/2, with λ0=2520±100 Å and Tc=119 K for Tl2 BaCa3 Cu3 O7.8+x and λ0=2700±100 Å with Tc=84 K for Bi2 Ca2 SrCu2 Ox.
