Abstract
A group of experts from gastroenterology, internal medicine, health economics, medical outcomes, and managed care met in San Francisco, Calif, on September 27, 1994, in an effort to develop clinically and economically effective disease management guidelines to assist physicians in their treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in a managed care environment. This article represents a consensus opinion based on the evidence and expert interpretation at the time of that meeting. (Arch Intern Med. 1996;156:477-484)Keywords
