Abstract
A method was developed to generate a single-dose-radiation cell-survival curve for rat thyroid gland cells. The technique relies on the quantitative transplantation of enzymatically prepared monodispersed cells into isologous recipient rat fat pads. The cells were irradiated in vitro prior to implantation. A positive end point consists of the formation of morphologically and functionally normal thyroid follicles. The survival curve generated for the hormonal condition employed has a Do [mean lethal dose] of 190 rad and an extrapolation value of 4.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
