Abstract
By photolyzing mixtures of acetone and hexafluoroacetone, and measuring the rates of formation of the three ethanes, we have found [Formula: see text] which means that the activation energy for the recombination of CF3 radicals is 2140 ± 200 cal, assuming zero activation energies for the other two radical recombinations, and that none of the ethanes is formed except by radical recombination. Keywords
