POTASSIUM CHANGES IN SUBMAXILLARY GLANDS DURING STIMULATION

Abstract
Submaxillary glands of cats stimulated electrically were able to replace completely the K lost in the saliva during stimulation. Glands stimulated with pilocarpine lost this restorative power as the output increased. Pilocarpine probably has some specific effect on the intake of K by the gland.
