Abstract
Reorientation of centers in KI during optical excitation in the 3.10- and 1.55-eV absorption bands has been examined. The results obtained by anisotropic-bleaching techniques are consistent with the probable antibonding nature of both excited states. Similar work performed previously in KC1 is cited.
