Electroplating application to the fabrication of optics

Abstract
The advent of high-power-density lasers has placed new requirements on optical reflectors. In particular, there is a need for surfaces of high purity metals that are fee of minute defects, such as inclusions and voids, which can lead to damage at low-power densities. Electroplating has been found to be a viable method of providing the metal for such surfaces.
