Abstract
Perceptibility in 18 graduate and undergraduate Ss was found to be a function of absolute retinal locus with fixation on the 2nd, 4th, or 6th position of briefly exposed, 7-letter arrays. Results suggest that perceptual reports are frequently contaminated with contributions from postperceptual processing in recognition experiments.
