Effects of Using a Velocity-Dependent Potential in a Monte Carlo Simulation of Intranuclear Cascades

Abstract
A velocity-dependent potential, of the form V=V0(1εεmax) for ε<εmax and V=0 for εεmax, was used in a Monte Carlo simulation of intranuclear cascades. By using a reasonable εmax (150 MeV), only slightly better agreement is obtained between the calculated and experimental results than was found previously with a velocity-independent potential.
