Abstract
A study comprising 87,920 conscripts and 44,213 blood donors was undertaken to investigate the geographical variation in the distribution of the ABO blood groups in Denmark. No major differences could be demonstrated. The Isle of Bornholm showed the greatest deviation from the mean distribution. Analysis of the donor material shows a 10% preponderance of group B and a 20% preponderance of group AB as compared with the conscripts.
