Ten sets of electroencephalographic records from routine admissions to a Veterans'' Administration hospital were studied by 5 eeg. experts to determine their agreement as to presence or absence of pathology as well as localization of lesions. The percentage of complete agreement on pathology was found to be 40, on localization 30, and on both combined 10. The conclusion of low reliability points to questionable validity of the eeg.
