Abstract
A numerical scheme for the determination of the fiber orientation state in dilute suspensions is developed. Fiber orientations are calculated from the numerical integration of Jeffery's orienta tion equation along the streamlines obtained on the basis of the finite element method. Numerical solutions of the fiber orientation state are presented for the simple shear flow, the fountain flow and the flow in an infinite expansion. Keywords
