Some Chemotropic Studies with Autographa spp.1

Abstract
A report is given on trapping the moths of the cabbage looper, A. brassicae, and several related species in cages baited with 6 chemicals of commercial purity and their several fractions, varying in degrees of purity, which were obtained by distillation. The promising chemicals were, phenylacetaldehyde, benzyl ether, benzyl acetate, palmitalde-hyde, diphenyl ether, and benzyl valerate. Several other chemicals tested, or impurities contained therein, were slightly attractive to this group of moths. The most successful type of cage used is described.
