Abstract
A simplified dc equivalent model of a series compensated pickup in an Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) system is derived along with design equations to replace rule of thumb guidelines used in the selection of the regulator capacitor. The design of the regulator capacitor and its effect on circuit behaviour is verified under both simulated and experimental conditions at rated load and light load. Keywords
