Abstract
The solubilities and standard free energies of solution of 1,2‐dialkylbenzene, 1,4‐dialkylbenzene, 2,3‐dialkoxynaphthalene, and 2,7‐dialkoxynaphthalene, were determined in H2O and in D2O. From these data the intramolecular hydrophobic interaction has been determined. It was found that the strength of the hydrophobic interaction in H2O is larger than in D2O.Keywords
