Abstract
Quadrupolar splittings of nuclear magnetic resonance have been detected and measured in powders of LiOH, LiOH·O, LiN, LiN·O, LiI, P, Ti, and . The theoretical powder pattern for a nonvanishing asymmetry parameter, , has been checked by observations in spodumene, LiAl, and applied in the analysis of several of the observed spectra. It was found necessary to shorten the spin-lattice relaxation time, , in most of the compounds before successful measurements could be made.
