Nuclear Quadrupole Coupling Constants ofLi7in Lithium Compounds

Abstract
Quadrupolar splittings of Li7 nuclear magnetic resonance have been detected and measured in powders of LiOH, LiOH·H2O, LiNO3, LiNO3·3H2O, LiIO3, Li3PO4, Li2TiO3, and Li2 ZrO3. The theoretical powder pattern for a nonvanishing asymmetry parameter, η, has been checked by observations in spodumene, LiAl(SiO3)2, and applied in the analysis of several of the observed spectra. It was found necessary to shorten the Li7 spin-lattice relaxation time, T1, in most of the compounds before successful measurements could be made.
