Abstract
One new species of Microdalyellia [M. kenyae ] and 5 new species of Gieysztoria [G. kolasai, G. saganae, G. donnae, G. joannae, G. papii ] are described from freshwater habitats in Kenya. The main diagnostic feature in each of these species is the male cuticular apparatus. G. expedita (Hofsten, 1907) is recorded for the 1st time from Africa, and new records of G. rubra (Fuhrmann, 1894) are presented.
