Abstract
A checklist is given of the 39 species of sandflies which have been recorded from Ethiopia. The penetration of 15 species of the predominantly Palaearctic genus Phlebotomus into this area is established. Observations are recorded on the distribution and habits of many of the species, and the mating and plant-feeding habits of P. orientalis and P. longipes, in particular, are discussed. Records are given of protozoan, nematode, cestode s.ncl acarine parasites.
