THE HEMOGLOBIN CONTENT OF THE BLOOD OF FOWLS

Abstract
Study of the Hb content of the blood of 23 chickens and a number of wild pheasants, ducks, geese, brants, swans, peafowls, and turkeys by the Newcomer method (with correction applying to the "Improved Newcomer Model" hemoglobinometer for the turbidity of acid hematin solutions prepared from bird blood) indicates that the Hb content of the blood of wild fowls is higher than that of the blood of chickens.
