Abstract
The investigations that have led to the synthesis and isolation of benzylpenicillin (G) are reported. The isolation of this subst. proves that penicillin can be synthesized. The reaction mechanism is as yet obscure, but it is now possible to make new penicillins, although in minute arnts. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
