Abstract
Clonidine (“Catapres”), a centrally‐acting hypotensive drug, has been shown to have a hypotensive action in most, but not all, hypertensive patients. Side effects, notably dry mouth and extreme drowsiness, are frequent with most effective doses. The combination of clonidine with a diuretic and methyldopa gives good control of blood pressure in most patients, with few side effects. Keywords
