Abstract
An evaluation of diarrhea, long-term gastro-intestinal ulceration, familial aspects, multiple endocrine adeno-matosis and hypersecretion of acid gastric juice as important manifestations of the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Total gastrectomy is recommended as the initial definitive ulcer procedure and should be combined with tumor resection if feasible. Total gastrectomy, however, is not advised without a definitive tissue diagnosis. Keywords
