Abstract
A hitherto undescribed, colorless, crystalline metabolic product, mycelianamide, C22H28O5N2, m.p. 170-172 C (decomp.), has been isolated from the mycelium of P. griseo-fulvum. It has been identified tentatively as the amide of o-mycelyl-N-pyru-vyl-beta-keto-tyrosine. Mycelianamide completely inhibits the growth of a no. of Gram-positive bacteria in vitro at concns. of 1:20,000 to 1:50,000, but has no marked action on Gram-neg. bacteria. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
