Rotational States inNe20Excited by the ReactionO16(Li7, t)

Abstract

The reaction ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}({\mathrm{Li}}^7, t){\mathrm{Ne}}^{20}$ has been studied at 16-MeV incident energy. The reaction is found to proceed essentially by a direct mechanism, exciting only those rotational bands in ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{20}$ which are allowed by the selection rules in the SU(3) scheme.
