Abstract
THE recently demonstrated effectiveness of chlorothiazide as a diuretic and antihypertensive agent has led to its increasing use in the treatment of congestive cardiac failure and hypertension. For this reason, the occurrence of jaundice in a patient taking this compound is of interest.Case ReportO.G., a 62-year-old colored woman, was known to have had diabetes mellitus since 1948 that had required hospital care for regulation on several occasions. In addition, treatment for congestive cardiac failure secondary to arteriosclerotic heart disease had been required.
