Well-defined ethylene polymerisation catalysts derived from bis(imido) chromium(VI) precursors

Abstract

Well-defined, cationic alkyl chromium polymerisation catalysts are generated upon treatment of the chromium(VI) dialkyl complexes Cr(NR)₂(CH₂R′)₂(R = Bu^t, R′= Ph; R = 2,6-Prⁱ ₂C₆H₃, R′= Ph, H) with the borate salts [Ph₃C][B(C₆F₅)₄] or [PhNMe₂H][B(C₆F₅)₄].
