Abstract
Pinus taeda seedlings were grown in sand cultures for periods up to 29 months, with nutrient solns. of several compositions. Results showed that loblolly pine is capable of using N in the form of nitrate in acid reaction, and in the form of ammonium in more nearly neutral reaction. The plants did not undergo long periods of dormancy, possibly because of additional illumination. Yellowing of leaves was observed from time to time. Deep root systems were developed. Mycorrhiza were not formed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
