Abstract
Training and detraining had little effect on the activity of glycogen synthase [EC 2.4.1.11], hexokinase [EC 2.7.1.11], glycerol 3-phosphate dehydrogenase [EC 1.1.1.8] or total protein. The activity of 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase [EC 1.1.1.35] increased markedly during training. After 5 wk of detraining, the activity of 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase was returning to pre-training values, while by 10-wk detraining, the levels were increasing again. Keywords
