Abstract
The crystal structure of Ba1.5La1.5Cu3O7-x (tetragonal, Z=1) was determined by the combined use of electron diffraction and X-ray powder diffraction. The length of the c axis is nearly three times as large as that of the a axis : a=3.9108 Å and c=11.707 Å. Rietveld analysis of the X-ray diffraction data showed that this compound has a layered structure very similar to that of the tetragonal form of Ba2YCu3O7-x . Oxygen atoms on a z=1/2 plane are lackinag completely, and the occupation factor of oxygen at (0, 1/2, 0) is 0.6.Keywords
