Treatment of Acute Orbital Complications

Abstract
In the period from 1953 to 1972,190 patients with acute orbital complications caused by primary infections in the nose, paranasal sinuses, skin of the face or scalp, and oral or pharyngeal mucosa were treated at the Cracow Otolaryngological Clinic. In 73% of the cases, the disease process was successfully treated conservatively, and in 27%, operations were performed on the primary infection site or orbit or both.
