Beta-Ray Energy ofH3

Abstract
The maximum energy of the H3 beta-ray spectrum has been measured by its absorption in helium. The detector was a screen-wall Geiger-Müller counter with helium at atmospheric pressure flowing through it at all times. The maximum range of the H3 beta-rays in helium was determined as 13±1 mm, corresponding to a maximum energy of 9.5±2.0 kev.
