Abstract
Various studies of thermal turbulence in thin shear flows are re‐examined in order to evaluate the ratio of the time scale of the scalar‐fluctuation field to that of the velocity‐fluctuation field. In all cases considered it is found that the ratio is nearly uniform with a value close to 0.5.Keywords
