LASIK

Abstract
To review common complications noted with LASIK. Review of personal experience of the author with the procedure and work published in the literature. The most common complications of the LASIK procedure include flap irregularities, epithelium and other materials within the lamellar interface, irregular astigmatism, regular astigmatism, regression, and overcorrection. Infection is a rare but potentially serious complication. LASIK has impressive potential for the correction of myopia and hyperopia. Surgeons who perform the procedure must be familiar with recognition and treatment of potential complications of LASIK.
