Thermodynamic Theory of the Phase Diagram of Mixed Transition-Metal Oxides

Abstract

The model of Falicov and Kimball for metal-insulator transitions has been extended to include two types of localized states and the effect of spin-spin interactions. This allows for the description of the phase diagrams of mixed transition-metal oxides of the type ${\left({\mathrm{V}}_{1-x}{\mathrm{Cr}}_x\right)}_2{\mathrm{O}}_3$.
