Abstract
Previous work has shown that the anhydrides of dulcitol and mannitol, namely mannitan, mannide, isomannide and dulcitan, are not metabolized in the animal body. Dulcitol and mannitol are fermented by many organisms of the coli-aerogenes group whereas their anhydrides are not utilized as determined by the ordinary fermentation tests. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
