The Sex Ratio Among Human Still-Births

Abstract
The average numbers of [male][male] per 100 [female][female] among 50,810 stillbirths reported in a selected area of the United States during 1926, 1927, and 1928 were as follows: Less than 4 months gestation, 357.48; 4 months, 223.14; 5 months, 139.36; 6 months, 128.91; 7 months, 116.60; 8 months, 125.26; 9 months, 137.43; 10 months or more, 150.13. Total average, 135.83 [male][male] per 100 [female][female]. Errors in diagnosing the sex probably account for a part of the great excess of [male][male] in the first age group, though its true masculinity is considered to be greater than that of the next older group. The excess of S6 at conception is definitely greater than at birth.
