Synthesis of 2-O-alpha-D-Glucopyranosyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside Derivatives Suitable for Linking to Proteins.

Abstract
The synthesis of p-trifluoroacetamidophenyl 3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-2-O-(.alpha.-D-glucopyranosyl)-.beta.-D-galactopyranoside suitable, after deacylation, for linking of 2-O-.alpha.-D-glucopyranosyl-.beta.-D-galactopyranoside residues to proteins is described. The disaccharide is of interest in blood platelet [human] agglutination studies.
