Abstract
A discussion on the multi-dimensional character of flexibility is presented and an approach is suggested to define and measure flexibility. Petri nets are used as a design representation of an FMS for the purpose of comparing different systems on a flexibility basis thus unveiling their desirable flexibility properties. Keywords
