Abstract
A factor-analytic study of 100 depressed women produced first and second factors which suggest clinically seen depressive patterns; the autonomous (or endogenous) pattern, and the self-pitying pattern. These factors are shown to approximately replicate the first and second factors of two previous factor analytic studies. The interpretation of these results is discussed. It is felt that these factors represent common clinical pictures rather than clear-cut patient groups. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
