Abstract
An analysis of the nesting bird populations in 27 different woods reveals the regular occurrence of about 30 spp. Although varying in density, the bird community is much the same in composition in different woodland types and in different parts of Europe. Similar ecological niches occupied by equivalent species occur in widely separated countries. Present afforestation changes from deciduous to coniferous trees will not greatly affect the species found but may cause lower densities of population. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
