Abstract
Giant-cell arteritis, presented clinically as polymyalgia rheumatica, was seen in an 82-year-old female. The histologic diagnosis was established by examination of the arteries of the uterus. This case gives additional support to the concept that giant-cell arteritis is a systemic arterial disease. A careful search of the literature failed to reveal a similar case involving these arteries. Awareness of the various manifestations of this disease and careful histological examination of the arteries are necessary for its recognition and treatment.
